Who coordinates and supports Operation Shore Patrol?
In 1971 the Pacific Northwest 4-Wheel Drive Association started Operation Shore Patrol and has continued to coordinate and participate in the cleanup. The Association also promotes community cooperation and support from Ilwaco to Moclips prior to and during the cleanup weekend.

State Parks waives campsite fees for Friday and Saturday (hook-ups not included) at Cape Disappointment (Long Beach Area), Twin Harbors (South Beach Area) and Ocean City (North Beach Area) state parks for cleanup participants. Campsites are limited on a first-come, first-serve basis. To assure campsite availability, contact the 4W Drive Association Region Coordinators below at least one week before the event.

Department of Ecology donates posters to participants.

Grays Harbor County provides debris disposal.

Local merchants and service groups provide various breakfast, lunch and dinner feeds for volunteers. They also offer discounts and contribute door prizes for raffles.

Tribal Nations on Washington's coastline also support and participate in tribal beach area cleanup events during Operation Shore Patrol.

All interested citizens are urged to participate. Bring gloves and rain gear and be careful of soft sand!

Where are the camping locations?
State Parks waive standard campsite fees for cleanup participants on the third Friday and Saturday of September (hookup sites are not included) at the following locations:

Cape Disappointment (Long Beach area)
Ocean City (North Beach area)
Twin Harbors (South Beach area)


A limited number of standard campsites are available. Reservation for standard campsites must be made by calling the Pacific Northwest 4Wheel Drive Association region coordinators at the numbers below after 6 p.m. weekdays or on weekends between Aug. 1 and Sept. 9. Hookup sites are available on a first-come, first-served bases, and fees apply.

FRIDAY – 16TH
11:00a.m. – 12:00a.m. CHECK IN/SIGN IN
RAFFLE TICKETS FOR SALE.

SATURDAY – 17TH

7:30a.m. CHECK IN- (For those who arrived late Friday night)

8:00 - 8:30a.m. MEETING TO GO OVER RULES AND GET BEACH
ASSIGNMENTS – GLOVES – BAGS (Mandatory Attendance)

8:30a.m. - NOON CLEAN ASSIGNED BEACH AREA, THEN HELP OTHERS UNTIL ALL CLEANUP IS COMPLETED

NOON-1:00p.m. LUNCH (back @ camp)
(Hot dogs, Chili, Chips, Lemonade & Kool-Aid)

1:00-2:00p.m. KIDS ACTIVITIES FOR KIDS CONTEST

2:00p.m. ALL KIDS SCAVENGER HUNT AND COLORING CONTEST MATERIAL DUE

3:00-4:00p.m. GROUP PHOTO AT OYHUT BEACH ENTRANCE, THEN PARADE (anyone with a camera is asked to take pictures)

6:00-7:00p.m. TIMBER TAMERS STEAK (or Chicken) DINNER. Dinner includes corn on the cob, salad and beverage. For kids hotdog, chips and a drink.
